So we put together this guide to short-cut whether there is a high likelihood we will love working with each other and thrive together, before getting into more intensive interviews.
Our aim with this doc is to be:
- 📖 Transparent — we want to reveal who we really are and how we work so you can opt in or out. It doesn’t do us any good to sell you a picture that is not reality; our goal is build successful, long-term relationships.
- 🤳 Self-aware — any set of company values always sounds attractive on paper, but we know there is no ‘perfect’ and all ways of working have their tradeoffs. We want to be clear about what ours are.
- 🙏 Respectful — regardless of whether you find Sundial compelling, we honor and respect that if you are reading this, you are someone with incredible strengths, and unique hopes and dreams. It is our hope that in your next job, you find exactly what you are looking for.

Our work
- We believe the reason data matters in the first place is to make faster, higher-quality business decisions. So this is our ultimate mission.
- We believe diagnostic, backwards-looking analysis that today is done by humans can and should be automated. (Humans can then focus on the “art” of data analysis—the strategic, creative portions.)
- We are building a new kind of insights platform that nobody has ever succeeded at before. As such, we must think long-term and invent boldly, tolerating some degree of failure as a byproduct.
- Our first commitment is towards the value and quality of our insights in decision-making. Our second is towards making those insights easy-to-understand for everyone across a team. Our third is making our product experience feel truly delightful. We do not believe these are inherent tradeoffs; if they are today, it is only because we have more to learn and grow. As such, we aim for excellence in code, in pixels, and in analysis.
